If You Take Emotions Out of Business…

Each of us is an instrument tuned in a certain way. It is this tuning that determines our capabilities and results.

Our emotions reflect our inner state.

The fewer emotions there are, the better our state becomes; we are more engaged in the situation and can see what is happening without emotional distortion. And then we can make adequate choices rather than just emoting.

As soon as emotions overwhelm you, you drop out of the situation and become consumed by your feelings. You no longer notice certain nuances and opportunities, and you become easy to manipulate through your emotions. This happens at work, in business, in management, in negotiations, and in personal relationships.

If you take emotions out of business, what remains is simply a working situation that requires the right decision. By resolving the situation or the work task, we get the result and plenty of free time to move forward…

It is emotions that make us blind, deaf, and disconnected from the situation. A logical question arises:

— What can be done about this?

You simply need to bring yourself into emotional alignment, and then there will be no excess emotions. They will become mere markers that help guide you, rather than lead you astray…

Who does this concern?

This concerns almost everyone: from top executives to regular employees, as everyone has to solve a range of their own work tasks, which collectively yield results and determine future prospects. In offices, there is a widespread experiencing and unproductive ruminating on emotions instead of simply solving work tasks. This happens both individually and collectively. In the process, working hours and inner energy are heavily wasted.

Any task can be solved as easy as one, two, three. If this doesn’t happen, it means that somewhere, within someone, or between people, emotions are lingering and hindering the resolution of that task. Remove the emotions—and all that’s left are tasks that can be solved.

Of course, it is very difficult to do this on your own, especially if you are already “stuck” unproductively dwelling on the situation and cannot resolve the issue yourself. In that case, it is easier to turn to a coach; by investing 1-2 hours of your time in reformatting yourself, you will get the opportunity to stop the loss of time and energy, see the real picture of what is happening, and find the optimal solution.

It is the direct duty of an entrepreneur and a manager, first and foremost, to build emotional alignment within themselves. If results and a productive staff are required, a manager must be able to avoid getting emotionally drawn into various situations. Instead, they must act strictly and purposefully according to the task, eliminating discrepancies and relieving emotional tension through proper task delegation.

Mastery of the situation comes from self-mastery, the ability to separate emotions from tasks and prospects, and the capacity to be an engaged and effective manager. You either know how to do this and lead your business to achievements, or you simply live through your emotions and just dream about the result.

Coaching is exactly the instrument that can help bring you into emotional alignment, and as a method, it is highly effective in personnel management.

After all, an entrepreneur needs only two things for success:

  • emotional alignment;
  • managerial effectiveness.

However, the latter is impossible without the former. Invest your time and money into what provides a return on investment.
